California native, lover of design, art and adventure, Marie Aiello founded her design studio in 2003. Marie’s story began in Los Angeles, California. While earning her degree from UCLA in English and Art History, she successfully ascended the world of entertainment producing television movies rich with storyline. Recognized as a visionary tastemaker and one of the most accessible first ladies of Hollywood, Marie was part of the who’s who of the industry’s elite.
Marie’s love of adventure, culture and art brought her to Paris to reconnect to the core of her passion. Leaving Los Angeles, Marie took a pied-a-terre in the colorful streets of the Marais and instantly assimilated into the French culture. Further, Marie went on to study under the noted artist and designer, Yves Mikaeloff and quickly immersed herself in all of Europe.
Inspired by the objects and textures she discovered on her global adventures, Marie next relocated to exotic St. Barth where she opened the successful lifestyle boutique, Jetlag. There she created a destination for the sophisticated world traveler curating fashion, home furnishings, and objects of desire for the discerning customer.
Marie’s first client came while in her first year at New York School of Interior Design, and has continued voraciously ever since. Her client roster includes entertainment, music, and corporate CEO’s in some of Manhattan’s most valuable real estate. Her work has extended to elegant luxury homes in Connecticut, the Hamptons, and Westchester County including an AIA and HOBI Award winning house in Armonk, NY.
Marie was named Emerging Designer for the 2009 Metropolitan Home Showtime House in which her work was highly praised. She has been featured several times on NBC’s LXTV Open House, and has starred as a guest designer for Discovery Channel’s Construction Intervention.
I have always loved creating story. Design is one of the most compelling mediums for realizing it.
